HR Officer

£35k – £38.1k pending on experience (early finish Fridays!)
We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Officer to deliver a high-quality HR service that supports both operational and business objectives. This is a broad generalist role covering the full employee lifecycle, providing expert advice, managing employee relations matters, supporting recruitment activities, and driving continuous improvement across HR processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, investigations, and performance issues.
- Provide timely and practical HR advice to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and employment law.
- Review, develop, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Lead recruitment and onboarding activities across the business.
- Support sickness absence management, occupational health processes, and employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Produce HR reports and workforce data to support business decision-making.
- Deliver training and coaching to managers on HR best practice.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, efficiency, and compliance.
About You
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a generalist HR role.
- Strong employee relations experience, including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management.
- Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application.
- Experience advising managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.
- Strong organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- HR qualification or equivalent experience; CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) desirable.
- Experience with occupational health, wellbeing initiatives, payroll support, HR reporting, and manager training.
