The HR Officer is a generalist role, with a bias towards recruitment,  and includes developing and supporting HR policies and procedures as well as improving the efficiency of the department.  

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all recruitment on site, including managing the recruitment agency for shop floor labour
  • Maintain all job description and personal specifications, working with hiring managers 
  • Review recruitment processes and making recommendations for improvements
  • Support hiring managers during interviews
  • With the support of the Admin team, ensure offer letters and contracts are issued
  • Support onboarding, delivering new starter inductions
  • Support all employee relations issues
  • Update and review procedures, standard letters and forms to ensure compliance to new employment legislation
  • Support with generating processes and ensuring these are kept up to date
  • Manage and maintain time and attendance 
  • Proactively manage long term sickness and assist Supervisors and Managers with short term sickness
  • Proactively manage the Occupational Health provision within the Company
  • Assist with improving the efficiency of the department through streamlining processes
  • Coaching Managers on HR related issues
  • Support wellbeing and community initiatives

Experience needed

  • Employee relations casework including supporting disciplinary and grievance casework
  • Recruitment experience is essential
  • CIPD level 5 or equivalent experience
  • Ability to coach and support managers
